In the central and southern coastal regions of Vietnam, coastal fishermen have a custom of worshiping Ong fish. This is a belief originating from the Cham people's custom of worshiping the God of Waves, praying for a good fishing season and peace for everyone at sea.
The painting chooses the image of a whale to represent the image of the Ong fish, moving between many layers of water waves, parting the waves and parting the clouds, bringing blessings and faith and hope to the people of the sea.
